Positive Parenting Idea of the Day
Being the Best Parent You Can Be…One Idea at a Time
Most of us have learned that a polite request from an authority figure is equivalent to an order. It just feels better to be asked than told. However, if your child does not respond to a gentle nudge, increase the power by telling him what to do while using a firmer tone of voice. Do this before you get angry, as anger often produces a harsh, aggressive tone of voice that tempts some children into rebelling. Stay calm and firm.
